Can anyone get cosmetic dentistry?

Most people can have a cosmetic dental procedure, but there are a few exceptions which we will discuss at your initial consultation. If you are a smoker, we will not carry out dental implants until you have given up as this affects the success rate. If you are pregnant or breast feeding, we will not carry out teeth whitening.

Can I get cosmetic dental treatments on the NHS?

No, you cannot get cosmetic dental treatments on the NHS because they are not deemed essential to your health. Cosmetic dentistry is focused more on the appearance of your teeth so treatments will need to be paid for privately.

Is cosmetic dentistry painful?

Advances in technology mean that no dental treatments should cause you pain. Most cosmetic dental treatments are painless and require no injections or drills. Invisalign braces are renowned for being more comfortable than traditional metal braces. Dental implants are perhaps the most complex treatment which requires a local anaesthetic during surgery. You may feel sore after the procedure, but this is minimal and easily controlled with paracetamol.
