Preparing the teeth

Temporary veneers are then fitted whilst you wait for your bespoke set.

How long do porcelain veneers last for?

Porcelain veneers should last between ten and fifteen years, after which time you will need to get them replaced. You can extend the lifetime of your veneers by taking good care of them – regular brushing, flossing and ensuring you visit the dentist and hygienist regularly. You should also avoid biting on things like your nails, pen lids and hard foods such as nuts, ice, apples and popcorn which can all chip your porcelain veneers.

Will my porcelain veneers stain?

Porcelain is very durable and should not stain. If you know that your teeth tend to stain, you should try to minimise your consumption of darker food and drinks like red wine and spicy curries.

Will my veneered teeth be sensitive to hot and cold?

As a small layer of enamel is removed prior to fitting your veneers, some people do notice that their teeth are more sensitive to hot and cold food and drinks for a short time after having treatment. This will disappear within a few days, but we recommend avoiding hot and cold food and drinks for the first few days.
